Reading Comprehension

         All About Sleep

1. Why do living creatures need to sleep?

So that animals can rest their body and calm down.

2. What is a bad mood?

A bad mood is when you feel bad.

3. Why would a person's brain be quite busy when they are asleep?

The brain is busy because it is trying to get new ideas for another day.

4. What stage of sleep is a deep sleep?

The stage of the deep sleep is the third stage.

5. Why  would a person’s eyes move when they are sleeping?

It moves because the stages repeat through the night.

6. Why do some people not remember their dreams?

They don’t remember their dreams because the night has been long and in the morning someone disturbs your sleep.

7. How does a horse usually sleep?

It usually sleeps when it’s standing.

8. Why do bats need to sleep for up to 20 hours each day?

They need to sleep 20 hours a day because they are nocturnal.

9. What could happen to a dolphin if its whole brain was asleep?

If their whole brain is asleep a predator will eat them while they are sleeping.

10. Why are some animals more active at night?

They are active because they need more energy in the day/night.
